Depinking Barbie's house

Postby Gift_in_Edge » Sun Jan 26, 2014 2:21 am

This past summer I got a 90's folding Barbie house and a box filled with horses, furniture, props, ect. for $2. After finding a spot where I could have the house open for display, I knew needed to fix it up and paint it too. I hope to use it for future photos and stories.

No pictures yet bit here's the commercial. It's missing a few things like the bathtub/bed and door. The light still works and has all it's stickers. I'm working on painting the roof blue right now. Any ideas of what colors to paint the inside?

I can't wait to see it. I have a folding one too but not that big. I bought it to take a part of certain pieces. Lol

Finished the roof parts and painted the little flowers on the outside. All of which have been sealed. I have some uneven spots but it seems they don't show much in pictures.

The opposite walls are the same color. The hardest part is just getting the first coat on. I've painted more since taking these pictures.

My painting supples. Sponge painting to give texture, and it helps the paint stick better and evenly.

I'm not sure about the floors yet. A light brown for a hard wood look?

If you want dark seams in the grooves between the planks do them first with a fine brush then paint the planks. That's one tip I remember from somewhere.

Ooh that's looking fabulous so far! I like the sound of a light-medium brown wood look for the floor (But I do really like the brown/blue colour combo so I'm biased!)

Thanks for the comments everyone!

I made some prop walls to give a indoors feel. I'm done with the blue walls. I just need to do some touch up in spots. Floors are next when ever I get paint.
