Sewing wefts onto a vinyl head?

Postby Linainversetsg » Thu Jul 31, 2014 12:23 pm

I had a random question and had been thinking about doing this for awhile but I'm not sure how to go about it.
My mom ordered some lovely black wigs on clearance that she didn't care for and couldn't return because they were discounted, so she gave them to me.
The wefts look very thin and like they would layer well so I was wondering if anyone has actually sewn wefts to a vinyl doll head in place of rooting and how it went, and how did you finish off the top?
I'd love to use the wefts to kinda speed up the rooting time and help me fall in love with this particular doll again. So any advice is appreciated!

Yes I have. It's the same proses that is used on making a mohair wig. See link for directions.
You just glue the wefts on the head. Like rooting you start out making one circle around the head then add the next circle of wefts until you reach the top.
