I have used this tutorial myself. For really nice yarn wigs I love using Lionbrand Microspun.

Redheart yarn.

UnCrocheted Redheart. (Unfinished project that was cannibalized)

Lionbrand funfur (discontinued)

Lionbrand microspun (Smoothest, less likely to fall apart)


I spin my own yarn and plan on making a custom designed yarn wig. Natural Alpaca. (brown shades)

I like the texture on the blue

Jo Ann stores, and some Michaels, carry selections of Fun Fur and other brands of eyelash yarn. I was just looking for Muppet colors and there's decent color choice. What I think might be useful for wig making is the fine sock weight which seems to be everywhere and a lace weight.
