Wow that is an awesome in dept tutorial!
A hobby isn't supposed to leave you wistful, regretful and vaguely disappointed. BJD collecting is as customizable as the dolls themselves. Do whatever pleases you the most, because otherwise, why do it at all? All for the 'Gram Bitches love the 'Gram.

I found the occasional dunk in hot water if not pouring the water inside the head helped loosen up the glue. It was still very gummy but I was able to grab the globs with long tweezers and pull them out.
The thickest part is by the part but there seems to be a good layer all over.

That was really helpful tutorial. Thank you so much!
I'm working on with my first MH custom, and this answered many of my questions. I would still work with the head attached to the body if I wouldn't have found this tutorial and the hot water tip. I just tried to pull the head off with no results before.
And I used acetone free nail polish remover, but it didn't dot the face up removing job too well. Need to buy another with acetone. :3
Also I would be interested to know do you seal the dolls head before doing new face up? And what sealant you are using for these type off dolls? I was planning to seal with the same stuff I use for my BJD's, Army Painter spray sealant. :3

Do you know if that sealer is safe for the type of plastic the dolls are made out of?
Personally I use a paint on sealer after I've done my work and only on the painted parts. If I worry about staining I put a thin layer of white or a skin matching color under the eyes and lips.

About Monster High dolls I'm not sure, that's why I'd like to know what type of sealants people have used. :3
The Army Painter I have works well for BJD's, and I know many people using it for resin dolls. But then, MH's are no resin dolls, so I don't know if it will suit them or if it damages the plastic. :( One of my friends has used some spray sealant from Games Workshop, and it seemed to work at least. Maybe I'll just go and try with my Army Painter and hope it works. 8D
