Hi forum buddies!!!! I need help and link on making and more importantly styling a bjd wig for my obi48. she isnt here yet but i would like to start researching and practicing. How do those wigs get those awesome bangs and sweeps, and waves with out being curly? I am more focused on the bang part the i know how i Want nothing special with the back because i will be changing the wig up. I just need to know how you curl them to lay flatly. and sperate them so they stay seperated etc. Thanks for the help!

I don't know what kind of wig you got, but some are not heat resistant, so if you are going to try using a curling iron or a hair dryer, make sure to test on a small spot that you can cut off, because the wig I bought for my Hujoo Suve, the moment I touched a curling iron to her hair, it melted and shriveled right up.

If you wig is not heat resistant, using a hairdryer on LOW heat could work, but you'd have to be very careful.

Most people though, especially for small dolls, tend to do their styling with boiling water. Use whatever kind of tools you have available to wrap the hair into the shape you'll want it, remove boiling water from heat and drop wig or head into water for I think it was 5 mins or so, let dry in the same shape, and it will all be good. soemthing like that... you should look up a tutorial though because I've never tried it and could be leaving out a step or 2.

thanks! and Yeah i am buying heat resistant hair wefts and wig caps and things from parabox in a couple weeks. I am going on the journey of making my own wig. I am trying to find a tutorial on the whole process of making one and styling it :/ but thats been difficult. I will try the water though, cause i did with my 1/6 rooted head nano haruka and her hair is super wavy, guess i could give it a try hopefull its not too curly

Oh yeah, there's some tutorials floating around out there for making wigs from scratch too. Here's one that in Russian about how to make a wig cap ideal for flocking, but can be used for other styles as well. The pictures themselves are a pretty good tut.

For styling you may also want to look into hair/wig wax made for the dolls. I'm not too sure where it's sold, but I think LeekeWorld might have some. Obviously this won't help you make your doll's hair curly or wavy, but I'm sure it can do quite a bit for bangs and sweeps. :)

For styling natural waves I've had some luck braiding the hair or making small twisty buns before boil perming. Each has a different result so try some test Barbies.
