Making simple micro buttons

Postby Anderson'sAllPurpose » Mon Aug 18, 2014 6:40 pm

Maybe I'm the last person to find out about this trick, but I thought I'd share it anyway just in case.
Basically, use a leather hole punch to make tiny buttons from any suitable piece of plastic you have laying around. They probably won't be very heavy-duty, but good enough for decoration.

You aren't the last, I hadn't thought of it! It's a good idea, especially since you can find all sorts of useful plastic at hobby stores that sell model plane making things.

Me either.
I've been trying to make them in polymer clay. This'd be far easier!

Brilliant idea! There's never a shortage of plastic around my place, since my local recycling center won't take any plastic except #1 and #2 containers with threaded necks/mouths. So lids from canisters and tubs, spice containers, those fake credit cards in junk mail... all sorts of options. And I bet there's also lots of plastic things at the dollar store to match any color/thickness I might need. Thanks for sharing this idea!
