Are there people out there who go to thrift stores for potential doll clothes fabric. If you do please show me, and if there are questions please post. I would love to hear what you have made!

OH HELL YEA!!!! Thrift stores are my BEST friends LOL I like to hit the kids section because you can find "fabrics" with smaller patterns on them. Don't know if I have photos of many of my thrift creations....Oh yea, this photo of Josephine. Her sailor top was made from a man's dress shirt that I got for 99cents because there was an ironing hole in it. And her skirt was from a bunch of Build-a-Bear clothing that I got at a thrift store as well. The skirt was so huge not only did I make one for Josephine, I'm making a second one for another doll from it!

My mom and I tend to hit the $1 per article of clothing stalls at the flea market. You can get some really lovely designs on thin fabric that you'd have a hard time finding in a fabric store.

So do I. I got some of the yellow and blue robot socks. They'll make a great boy's sweater.

This kimono was one of the skirt underwear combo I got at a Volunteers of America for a buck fifty.

And the bikini was a kids shirt. With the rest of the fabric I'm making hoodies with cat ears.

I love thrifting for fabrics. Thrift stores have a huge variety at a lower price, and some in my area lets you bring back scraps for "scrap bags."
Alas, I have not made anything yet. But that red kimono's giving me ideas...

Glad to know I am not the only one who thrifts for fabrics. Not only is it cheap, but you can find such great prints none of the fabric stores have. I love it. :3
