Sometimes you have to sacrifice the sparkly things if you want to live to enjoy the less sparkly ones :)

But would even the pieces of the big sparkly thing be bad? Couldn't I just sweep those up and make them into a nice necklace or something?

That is an excellent question. I'm not sure if they would have any lingering evil magic in them or not. Its also posibile that without the magic adding attraction they may be nothing more than pieces of very sharp glass now, rather than items of value or real attractiveness. I expect that would be up to our GM (K2) to decide :)
