I recently noticed Episode 279 has over 6200 hits. I guess it's really popular with the search engine bots.
Or someone discovered the secret code embedded in that episode that grants passage to the secret MADh Vinyl ice cream stand.

I'm a little curious about Hyatt. She's been written out of the main story. Is she still around in real life? Why was she written out, was it good for the plot or something else?

While it is true Hyatt has been written out of the main story line, she does appear in the occasional “out of context” story. There are still people that wish to see her return to the main story.

The story arc Miss Demeanor (Eps 79 to 88) was the first MADh Vinyl story where there was any real jeopardy for any of the characters. It had been pretty much fun and games to that point. It was important for Hyatt’s development to show she was more than just a source of snarky one liners who had contempt for her housemates. This was first hinted at in episode 46 (Old Friends). By the end of Miss Demeanor we see that Hyatt has developed beyond the harsh binary behaviors of her original viral programming and has embraced the broader range of emotions of the biological world she had become a part of. This was MADh Vinyl’s “robot attains humanity” story.

Miss Demeanor was also important for the series. Having a well-liked character meet their final demise has expanded the boundaries of the MV universe. On the one hand there is the risk of alienating readers. But on the other hand this helps to set the tone for future plot lines. Now readers know that when someone gets into trouble there is a real chance there will be serious and lasting repercussions. Things don’t reset for next week’s episode. Events like this force the story to move ahead.

It was also important for me as a writer. While I have no aspirations of writing on any professional level, I do enjoy storytelling and have been doing so recreationally through role playing games for many years. With RPGs the story can frequently "reset" every week. Role players are not eager to embrace major changes unless there is some serious advantage or reward for them. As a game master/author it is hard to do what is good for the many (the campaign) when writing to placate the few or the one (an individual player). The opportunity to tell the story of Hyatt’s heroic sacrifice for her friends was hard to pass up.

Thank you! I have gone back and re-read Miss Demeanor. I missed the full effect when I binged read Madh Vinyl to caught up on the then current story.

Annie Marie and Miss Diamond have been thought a lot together.

MADh Vinyl March 2014 Update

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
MADh Vinyl is Moving!

Okay, shock value over. MADh Vinyl will still be published here on Dollieh Sanctuary on its nearly weekly schedule. The MADh Vinyl studio (and the Farnsworth Laboratory and Rest Home) are physically moving, changing their real world location. After almost 25 years in the same location, the land lord said we have to go (too many strange smells and odd guests no doubt). Over the past 4 years the building management has been renovating the 125+ units in the building as tenants leave, but I haven't left and these renovations have to be completed by the end of 2014. The long and the short of it is we will be moving into a new unit in the same building, 4 floors down and the girls will be forcing me to get rid of some old experiments and doomsday devices so they can take over an entire room for themselves. With packing, moving, and unpacking MADh Vinyl episodes will be appearing a bit more sporadically than usual through mid April.
So in the words of another famous galactic traveler, "Don't Panic!"

It is beyond mid April and the move goes...
I had been in the same apartment for almost 25 years cramming more and more crap in it. The move was a chance to wipe the slate clean so it has taken a while to complete. There was lots of sorting and culling. The new place before the deluge of crap:

There were a lot of things to do: hang shelves, install lighting fixtures, etc.

The girls and their paraphernalia was a microcosm of this whole move thing and it was a great opportunity to start clean. Instead of sharing space with them the one bedroom in the apartment became the Girl's room. Completely. Except for the closet. During the move their room was the "holding area" for everything while it was being sorted and unpacked. Before:

150, 12x12x16 boxes later:

There are still things to do before shooting MV can continue again, namely finish the wall supports and lighting grid on the shooting table.

Wow! Good work! at least you didn't have to do the whole "moving van" thing.... but it still must have been back-breaking work.

And I'm NOT gonna ask how you got that bicycle UP there... or how you plan on getting it back DOWN!

My mother used to say "Three moves equals one fire" in terms of destruction/loss/headaches.
