Life in the Room [Photo Stories!]

Tales of love, death and more angst than you can shake a stick at - plus some comedy thrown in for good measure.

They just did not want to have to deal with Anne in all her ... Anne-ness

A Daughter's Duty

Image
"I'm just saying, Tugger, you can't keep running around like a feral."
"Who's running?"
"Tugger. You have duties. You're a daughter of Deutronomy. That has expectations to it."
"You want that life, I don't."
"It's not about wanting it. It's your duty. Now, I've told you. It's up to you now."

Image
"And she goes on and on about duty!"
"Tugger."
"She just likes preaching at me! Ever the perfect one. Who am I supposed to be beside her?!"
"I know who you are."
"...Oh?"

Image
"You're the Rum Tum Tugger, and a terrible bore."
"... Thanks, Misto. You always keep me being myself."
"Where would I be without your rock-star self?"
"Now, see why can't you say stuff like that more often?"
"I need to keep your ego deflated."

Kitties and their colorful hair. Not that I miss rooting them.

Anyway, my own catperson (Helen) who "ran away" to join a performance troupe suggest that Tugger should talk to her sister about delegating duties to other reliable cats instead of taking on everything just because they're both daughter of Deutronomy. A cat's gotta do what a cat's gotta do.

I have yet to try my hand at rooting a doll head. I have ideas I would love to do, but I keep staying my hand, so to speak.

Tugger says thanks to Helen for the advice, but Munkustrap lives for being overly responsible.

Discovering Romana

Image
"Romana!"
"Doctor!"
"Oh, it's lovely to see you, I love the new regeneration - did you try many on this time?"
"Hm. Instead of that small talk, how about we talk about whatever you did to Gallifrey?"
"... Ah."
"Yes, I thought you might say that."

Plan: Jealousy

Image
"It has been just lovely getting to know you, and to speak upon such wonderful things. To think I could find someone who spoke to my soul in such ways."
"I like speaking with you as well."
"A delight. We are each other's halves!"
"I was wondering, if it wasn't too much bother, if I could possibly take you out this weekend?"
"Oh, well, I'm sure I would be quite delighted with that."
"... I know what you're playing at. It won't work."
"I'm sure I have no idea what you mean."

Image
"Ah, Ophelia?"
"Yes, Dear Heart?"
"Who... was that man you were speaking with? What did he mean, he knew what you were playing at?"
"Nothing but trifles, Dear Heart. Nothing but trifles."

The Redemption Arc...?

Image
"Why would they make me go through all of that just to kill me off?"
"Because it's what they do. They're rather lacking in ideas. Besides which, I thought you would be happy."
"Why would I be happy?"
"It's exactly what happened to Vader."
"... I hate you."
"Of course you do."

A Significant Change

Image
"I... don't get it. Isn't that a good thing??"
"I don't, either. What do you mean she's changing, Nora? Do you mean she's turning Rebel?"

Image
"No, I mean she's changing. Showing who she really is - she's not the Good one, she's the Evil one of the story. Surely your Fae girl warned you this could happen?"

Image
"Mal? Did you know?"
"Well, there's always that risk, but come on, Apple?! She wanted to be Snow White more than anything. There was no danger of it. Or... I thought there wasn't."
"... So is this who she always was?"
"... I don't know."

Image
"This is all my fault, Evie, I should have just done as she asked."
"No, Raven, sweetie, we shouldn't have had to be doomed for her to get what she wanted."
"But if she's turning Evil.."
"There has to be more to this story. We'll just need to wait and see."

Understanding the Situation

Image
"So does this happen a lot?"
"Oh yes. Grandfather and the Lady President often exchange words."
"Oh..."

Image
"...Might as well enjoy it then."
"I quite agree."

Image
"Surely you can see why having the Skywalker line in the Room..."
"I told you! I've got it sorted!"
"Last time you had something 'sorted', I had to deal with a planet on fire. Excuse me for lacking confidence. "
"Romana, look, Anakin's fine and Kylo's got that girl that keeps him in line. Don't know what she sees in him actually."
"Oh, don't give me that. You totally do."

Image
"And what is that supposed to mean, Martha Jones?"
"One name: the Master?"
"..."
"You were willing to keep him in your Tardis after everything he did!"
"You were going to keep the Master?"
"Miss Jones brings up a pertient point, Doctor."
"That's a completely different situation! Anyway! About the Skywalkers..."
"The Room is doomed."

I don"t think its a good idea to push around the Skywalker line tio much. They can be quite a destructive bunch when provoked.

They can, but Time Lords are generally capable of handling Force users. Well, they think.

A New Look

Image
"Liking the new look, Finn."
"Yeah, I'm finally finding my style. Still a work in progress, though."
"One question?"
"Yeah?"
"...What's written on your top?"

(The galactic alphabet does not look anything like our standard alphabet...)

No, I Don't Think So

Image
"And you're supposed to be the new galactic overlord of the latest generation? How standards have slipped..."
"Do... I know you?"
"I am the Master, and I'm going to have so much fun if you're my only challenge."
