A Pinky Street Story: Mima the World Traveller Visits Hawaii

Tales of love, death and more angst than you can shake a stick at - plus some comedy thrown in for good measure.

That was a sweet episode! I wish gracious ghosts like Maya could really come to us and explain things from the past to help us understand, saying it's just a dream so that we wouldn't get scared... So many stories are lost forever, and so many stories didn't happen the way the records say they did, and we have no way of correcting that...

Thanks for the Hawaiian Tour Mima. Love that Tidal pool episode.

Always fond little shoots that could double as tour episodes.

At the time of this story I did not realize I would be leaving Hawaii. This episode offers a reminder of "my old neighborhood," since everything was within a short walk of my house. An oceanside historical cemetery within a five minute walk (more like two minute walk) of my house... and I left that? What was I thinking? But yes, there was a lot of rapidly vanishing history right there in my neighborhood.

(The "master plan" for the town includes possible future removal of the cemetery to make room for a golf course surrounded by a housing development.)

That photo of Mima being "cornered" by the sea urchins in the tide pool always makes me laugh. (Yes, I laugh at my own photos!)

Thank you. When I "host" a "traveling toy" I probably tend to go a bit overboard on the factual detail, which can end up being tedious after a point. But at least the pictures are colorful!

What a summery and relaxed episode! I love Prague, but we could definitely use more beaches and sea turtles. Although I'm perfectly fine without ghost crabs, thank you. I really lobe the turtle and sunset photos!

Oh those beaches look fabulous! Thanks for the photos.

I am sorry you left a place you loved, that is sad to hear.

Unlike famous Waikiki Beach on the south shore of Oahu, the North Shore beaches are rarely crowded; in fact, it was common to have a lengthy stretch of beach ("lengthy" meaning, like, a mile) of beach to oneself!

I have often read that Prague is one of the most picturesque cities in the world. (Your newest dolly friend will be taking us on a grand tour, I hope, once she gets some clothes. ;) )

Wow, what another beautiful place! I am not sure I would climb down cliffs for a tide pool though.

I loved the lighthouse!

Aaaah, what a view! I love these photostories! This should be published as an art book!

Yes, the lighthouse is nicely situated and, as you can see in the photos, the Coast Guard maintains it regularly. This is a particularly good spot for whale-watching during certain seasons of the year.
