Jo's Mod dress

They're too sexy for their clothing - but they have to wear them anyway! Did you buy it? Did you make it? Who cares - let'm strut their stuff here!

Jo's Mod dress

My AA American Model, Jo, auditioning to be Shaft's new girlfriend. :D

Made this from a pattern by Gracefaerie using a quilting cotton. The earrings were freebies from someplace I forget and the boots are from Facets I think. The wig was on sale at Facets and I cut it down to about 1/3 of the original length. Guess I need to take one of her with the huge Afro wig that came with her too, for that real 60's/70's feel.

Stilysh! I like how the dress pattern goes with the earrings *_*
Can I ask you a strange question, keinaqueen? How long is an American Model foot? I seems to not be able to find this single measurement anywhere on the internet T_T

Holding a metal ruler up to her foot, it's 2 1/8 inches. Using a tape measure that follows the arch, it's 2 1/4 inches.

That's a perfect scale of decoration on the fabric... I think you made a good choice.

...Shut yo mouth! LOL! (Can you tell how old I am that I even know that line? )

Thanks. It's a quilting cotton that I fell in love with and bought for my stash. I had planned to use it for a longer dress, but it just seemed to fit this pattern. I would kill to find her a more realistic pair of go-go boots, but they just don't make them and I haven't had the courage to try to make shoes/boots just yet. I made a pair of spats for my steampunk boy and those were difficult enough!

Perfect retro! And I like that style hair with it. I think it works.

I can dig it. 8-) (I just missed being around for the original film, but I definitely know the theme song by heart.)

Best of luck finding go-go boots! I saw these and got my hopes up, but it looks like they're for a smaller scale than Jo -- 16" rather than 22". Would this pair or this pair work?
