Steampunk Girl and Ice Fae Boy

They're too sexy for their clothing - but they have to wear them anyway! Did you buy it? Did you make it? Who cares - let'm strut their stuff here!

Steampunk Girl and Ice Fae Boy

I honestly can't remember if I posted this or not. I don't think I did. These were completed months and months ago, and I was just too distracted by other things to post them.

This first outfit was one part of a large commission that I did in trade for a Dream of Doll Idol boy. The rest of the stuff wasn't as much fun as this one, but I might still post pictures of them. The design was for a steampunk inspired outfit. I used real watch parts instead of those jewelry bits you can get at Michael's. Myrretah bought them in bulk, and let me pick through some of them. The skirt is designed to be able to clip up to the corset and be kept out of the way. The "buckles" on the front are bits of filigree findings that were cut apart and sanded with jewelry files.

And this is the outfit for Rune, my ice fae. He's been through a good many changes, and eventually I will need to post a past to present thread for him, but at last I am happy with his look. I don't have any good pictures of his boots, but the outfit, I've had all the stuff for ages. I just never got around to sitting down and making it. The armbands are metallic silver leather with pieces from a bracelet that I cut apart, and eyelets punched through. The lacing on the jacket is done with bits from peacock earring bits that I got at JoAnn's, and the sparkly ribbon trim is actually this gorgeous Christmas ribbon I found in Dec 2013.

Thank you, guys! I was really pleased with the way these came out. I am making another outfit for my unicorn boy too, that I'm doing in a similar style to Rune's outfit. I will post pics when I'm done. :)

Beautiful! I adore steampunk but have yet to try to make anything.

Thank you so much! I wish I had the time to make more steampunk outfits, but they're very time consuming. All the little gears and buckles need to be sewn on by hand. Even though Rune's outfit looks more fancy, his actually took less time because I could sew most of it on the machine. Really, only the various buckles needed to be sewn manually.
