2 1950s outfits in progress

They're too sexy for their clothing - but they have to wear them anyway! Did you buy it? Did you make it? Who cares - let'm strut their stuff here!

2 1950s outfits in progress

I'm reveling in my latest doll, an Impldoll Alma on the (new, curvy) Star body.

This sarong dress needs a hat, at least.
A friend gave me a bag of silk remnants she bought 20 years ago from a high-end tie manufacturer. I used most of the palm tree printed scraps for this project.
The dress zips in the back, and is lined in off white polyester.

I plan to add a skirt and shirt, and a tote (polkadots!) to this, for a full-on 1950s women's leisure outfit.
This is blue wool twill and lined in white poly (even the backs of the straps). The hat is the same wool, but with Pima cotton for the underside and crown band of the hat.
I finally got around to making front angled pockets on these shorts. Not bad! The white lining peeked out despite understitching, so I declared it a feature and trimmed the outfit in white.

I am always in awe of your supreme tailoring/sewing skills. The dress is gorgeous and the leisure outfit adorable. YES!! Anything can be a feature. hehehe... I call them happy accidents. Though I am not sure two left sleeves on a jacket can be considered a feature... XD

The leisure suit looks great, but the dress is so amazing that I would proudly wear a life sized one! It looks really good with the face-up and skin tones of your girl and I'm looking forward to see it with a matching hat.

Both adorable. Love that vintage look.
Just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD.

A little hard to see, but the collar is polkadotted.
