Photobucket Coercion TOS Change

I don't know if anyone here uses Photobucket, but apparently they have changed their TSO and no longer allow sharing photos hosted on Photobucket with other web sites unless you pay them about $400.00 a year. Here's more information on DOA - https://denofangels.com/threads/photobucket-tos-changes.749972/

Makes me glad I use Flickr. I can only guess Photobucket doesn't expect to exist much longer at this rate.....

Well, isn't that fantastic. I'm foreseeing many broken links in my future....

Is Flickr free?

I've started using https://postimages.org/ - free, and easier than Flickr to get links for sharing from

Flikr is free and gives you like 1TB of space. But I personally find it as confusing as hell to navigate and figure out how to post pics to forums. There's another site I use called Postimage.org that seems to work pretty well. It's also free and no ads.

Edit: Ah, yeah. I second Postimage. lol

I've used Flickr for years so I guess it's never been a problem for me.

This is mostly a test to see if I understand how to share images through Flickr. (Since Photobucket now sucks...)

Old picture of Angel, before she had hair or a faceup. The poor thing.

Edit: Hmm... that didn't work. What did I do wrong? I clicked on "share" in Flickr, copied the url and then hit the "Img" button on here and pasted the url in there. I thought it was pretty straight forward.

Does it have a share on message boards option, one of the photo thinggies I used to use did and it was coded slightly differently. Usually I just right click and get the image address then use the IMG tag here.

I'm on Tumblr and I post lots of pics, just not too many that get shared here. Maybe creating a Facebook page would be a way to work around things. They allow you to make photo albums, share, and all that stuff.

Dark Angel... did you select the BBCode from the Flickr share? If so, you should be able to just paste it into the comment box. Otherwise, you might have extra coding going on~

It was the url. If I get the BBCode, you're saying I don't need to use the "Img" button on this forum?

I'll have to look into it more when I get home and to an actual computer. (Not my phone)

Dark Angel, you click Share, as you noted. Then you pick the BBcode from the choices on the window because this forum, like many, use that format. You have to copy the entire line of information to the page because Flickr got smart several years back when they realized that we could just highlight the portion of the actual image and disregard the part that was the "ad" for Flickr. LOL.

Anyway you copy the entire line of information. I've added spaces between the command symbols so they will show up. [ url=https://flic.kr/p/T1tvAS ] [ img ]https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3929/33479562770_0b8ae92221_z.jpg[ /img ] [ /url ][ url=https://flic.kr/p/T1tvAS]harperandfriend[ /url ] by [ url=https://www.flickr.com/photos/44994110@N04/ ]Kirahfaye[ /url ], on Flickr

You can paste it just like that, but you can shorten it (which I do all the time).

Do you see the part I have in bold red? That's really the only part of that entire mess that you need to embed the photo. The rest is Flickr ad nonsense. So this - [ img ]https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3929/33479562770_0b8ae92221_z.jpg[ /img ] when you delete all of the surrounding stuff gives you this:
