But of course there is no such thing as global warming.

Kiki-chan is on my mind a lot right now. I know it is probably going to be a while before communications are back up. I'm trying not to worry.

She's in our hearts and prayers, for sure. I have a friend in UK who is still waiting to hear from her mom in Dominica, too. Very unsettling, but we have to believe they are all okay.

Still no word on Kiki, and now a dam has burst!

Praying for her and her husband.

According to the news, a majority of the cell towers are down. So no word isn't necessarily a bad sign....

Looking at the map... the dam break and river flooding is leading away from where Kiki lives. The river (and flood warnings) head due north from the lake/reservoir and she lives more to the west of that area in Mayaguez. Her father is up on the mountain, so he should be fine. I know Kiki and her husband are down more in the valley, but still there are mountains between where she is and the flooding.

I tried the Red Cross safe and well check in and didn't get a result for either of them, but with communications down on the island they may not a) be able to register, or b) even know about it yet.

I heard through Kiki's sister that she is ok and so is her dad.
