Sapphire's wig took the better part of a month to put together. It's made of yarn, six shades of blue doll hair, thread, elastic, and a decorative pin that makes a lovely doll barrette. It was done in 4 stages:

1. Crocheting the cap.
2. Sewing the doll hair into wefts.
3. Sewing the wefts onto the cap by hand.
4. Attempting to keep the hair where it belongs by braiding it and using elastics to hold "loose" hair in place near the cap (yes, that means in reality she's got a million little pigtails).

Lessons learned:

1. 19-inch long doll hair makes for a very heavy wig, even with a rubber cap to help hold it in place.
2. I probably should've used my fabric glue on the wefts before sewing them onto the cap, adding additional stability to the doll hair.

Constructive criticism would be extremely helpful. I'm always willing to improve! :3

Wow! That looks like a lot of work. But as far as I can tell, looks great.

Thank you for the compliment! It was a fair amount of work: hair doesn't like to stay in place the way cloth does for hand-sewing. :P
