Any way to straighten mohair?

Hi guys! I have some loose mohair to make a wig out of, and I need some tips for straightening it. It's not really curly, just wavy, but I need it to be as straight as possible. Also looking for any tips on styling mohair in general. :3 Thanks in advance!

If it is natural mohair, you can use the same products you would use on human hair; water, heat, gels and hair sprays, etc. However, if using the gels and sprays do not use them while the wig is on the doll without covering him or her with plastic wrap first, and don't remove the wrap until the products are completely dry. Many of them contain various alcohols, and the sealants used for face-ups will often react with it. If using heat, then make sure you also keep the styling tools away from the doll as well. I usually recommend starting with the lowest setting your tool will go on, and working your way up slowly, if needed. If using water, and the wig is made using a full pelt (the hair is still attached to the leather) or if the wig cap is made from water-soluable glues, then avoid getting those wet. If your hair is loose, look up some tutorials for making wefts and make those first before straightening out the hair. If you try to flat-iron the loose strands, I promise you will end up with a giant mess!

It is, it's angora goat mohair. I've tried using water and a straightening iron, but the waves snap back every time. I've already made a lot of wefts, so no worries there. :) I've watched a lot of tutorials on making the wigs and things have been going really smoothly so far, but I just can't seem to find anything about straightening the hair. Not much on styling in general. I also have a doll that's just for making and styling wigs on, so my faceup'd dolls won't be getting near the wigs until they're done. As for products, do you know if there's a styling product that would help hold the hair straight without leaving an icky or stiff residue? I really want to keep the hair as soft as possible by the end.
And thank you so much for the response! I really appreciate all the tips!

Sadly I do not, if the flat iron isn't working. We use a flat iron here, and it works fine. I don't use too many hair products myself, but the results you get in human hair are usually what you get in mohair.

I tried using a different straightening iron with higher settings and it works great now. ^-^ The other one I was using apparently just didn't get hot enough to straighten the hair. I've been working on the little wig for a few days now and everything's been going great. Thanks for the responses and trying to help me! I appreciate it!
