Revising the diorama

I so want this out on a table, in something more permanent then foam core (although I can change my mind easily this way).
But, alas. That is not to be.

The dio is on a 2' x 4' piece of particle board, with walls and roof of foam core boards - held together with T-pins. The wall/roof assembly just sits on the particle board.
The floor is some sheets of cardstock and textured paper, inexpertly laid in place.
The back wall is covered in fancy wrapping paper with slightly shiny stripes.
I pieced the back wall using toothpicks as biscuit joints, then hot glued a scrap of foam core across the join on the outside.

The dio stuffed into a closet with sliding doors. The doors really make it hard to get the thing in. It is not possible to slide the whole assembly in. The particle board was already in place. Then I stuck the roof in. Then I held the roof up with one hand, while stuffing the walls in with the other. I can't reach the back of the roof, so only the sides of the roof are T-pinned in place.

Anyway, enough whining!

There are more pictures in the Flickr album referenced below.

You can see here the different color of the center strip of roof (older foam core - le sigh)

Then - since the other side of the wall is where my larger dolls live, my April Story SD had to stick her head in.

I have some more furniture on the way and am looking forward to playing some more.

Neat. It'll be interesting to see it all filled up with furniture.

Lols at larger doll.

Ok I still need to get started on mine.... How high is it between levels? My tallest guy is around 31cm. I'm stuck between wanting a shelf that keeps his height in mind or have him feel like a giant in a house full of 27cmers

16 inches. Which is 8 feet if you assume true 1:6 scale.

Looks pretty cool so far, except for the rowdy neighbor.

I dragged the dio out of the closet, and set it up on some sawhorses that straddle a twin bed.

The bed gets used once a year, so the dio can stay there 363 days of the year.

I made some framed art. Now to choose!

Your room is nice, and I LOVE the art. Very classic and retro. You are going to have a hard time choosing. I think the sunset with the goats goes well with the yellow couch.
