I've had some luck putting baby powder in Monster glue hair and rinsing it out with cold water.

I've tried the baby power thing before, but my dolls were usually so gluey that they required more extreme measures. (Most of my Monsters were bought secondhand, usually for cheap because of the glue problem. That was back before people knew you could fix it, so I got quite a few of them dirt cheap because of "ruined hair", even with their original stands, brushes, and accessories/clothes.)
