Custom doll - based off a book character

Postby Eseme » Wed Jan 24, 2018 2:41 pm

Hello!

I read a lot, and decided, after reading a really great series, to make a doll that looks like the main character.

I put up a post on my blog, feel free to click through for photos. I did a yarn reroot to look like braids or twists and put her on a Made To Move Body. It was my first time repainting anything (her lips had a large scratch on them, so I had to repaint).

I am super proud of her, and hope you enjoy the pics!

She looks very cool. I like her dreadlocks.

Thank you Iwa_Hoshi! Her hair is my favorite part of the doll, I am super happy with how it turned out.

Thank you everyone!

The yarn reroot was straightforward (the My Froggy Stuff YouTube tutorial was right n the money).

I think using a natural fiber (alpaca) looks so good because there are small little hairs that poke out of each yarn twist - that looks really realistic.

With a short style like this, the glass beads on each strand are a MUST. Without them her hair poofed up and would not hang straight. The weight of the bead holds the strands down.
