Because doll friends don't let doll friends struggle and I was there 30 years ago when I named a doll Svetlana-

The leotard is on the left hand side, the neck line is the V shape. Have the stretch go horizontally. If it were me I'd use that crushed velvet stuff because it's more forgiving.

Thanks! I have one pattern to try already, but I'll try this one too and see what works best.

Made a little progress today. I cut more of the hair off and made a test of the pattern I found. It looks like it will work with a few adjustments. I need to rewet her hair and trim a bit more, but I may re-perm it first to get more of it going forward instead of sideways.

More progress but no pictures yet. I redid her perm so I can cut some more and while her head was soft, I swapped out her body for the Extra doll I got on sale. So now she can pose better, and she's got heels I can make into boots. I've got her pattern and fabric for her base leotard in the sewing room too.
