Sailor Moon 'Crystal' 9" BanDai Namco Doll Set

Postby SetsunaKou » Wed Aug 16, 2023 5:30 pm

My sister and I finished the set of Sailor Moon BanDai Namco 9" doll set last week and I finally had a chance to take photos the other day and upload them!!! My sister was on fire to make their outfits so they finished much sooner than expected!!! She said she wanted to finish them quickly to make me smile. Awww, she's such a sweetheart!!! :hugs to little sister: It's also her birthday on August 17, so I got these pics up in time for her birthday!! Happy Birthday, HarukaKou!!!

I wanted to paint their faceups to match the official dolls' style/look as much as possible and also the art of 'Eternal/Cosmos' which the dolls were designed to emulate. (Moon, Minimoon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Venus are 'official' dolls. We only changed the front bow on Moon, the back bow on Mars and we added the pink and yellow ribbon to Minimoon's gloves and skirt)

Additionally, we tried to match their outfit fabrics/style as well for the custom ones, and we especially noticed that these dolls have tulle petticoats under their skirts! (why?!) So we made sure to include that new (though unnecessary :laughs:) feature as well as make the back bows out of chiffon as the official ones have.

For the custom OOAK Super Sailor Starlights 9" dolls we also made to match this style, since the rest of the characters were in their 'Super' forms, we made the Starlights in what we imagine their 'Super' fukus would encompass. (Not much different, actually! :laughs: Just more straps and armor!)

Hope you like them! This isn't our favorite Sailor Moon doll set (too cutesy and little) but they are very adorable and....different from most 1/6 dolls, I guess. They are made more along the lines of the new Takara or Licca bodies, size, and styling. Not quite my cup of tea, but still very sweet in their way.

Thanks for looking as always!! God bless!!!

Thanks, VV-sama!!! Yes, my poor sister went above and beyond to do this set for me! Especiallyl Chibi Chibi---(the little 4" doll)---she said that one was the most difficult of all due to her tiny size. :) Thanks for the kind comment!!!! :hugs: You're the best!
