Girl Next Door Lara

Postby landwhale » Sat Mar 05, 2011 2:20 am

Made my first doll clothes! And they look alright. (Granted I am hiding the messed up green dress under the sweater dress but I didnt feel like redoing one right away).

Oh and this is Lara.

She's super sweet and genuinely nice....Can you guess what her job is?

She's a lingerie model!

In regards to her design, I painted her knowing she would kind of be too barbie-like for my taste but that's ok. The world needs all kindsa dolliehs!

So..., uh... :? , "sweet & nice" go with "lingerie model...?" I would have suspected "bold & daring." ;)

Pretty face. She looks like she could be a farm girl...

I don't think she looks like Barbie at all and I really like her.

I think she looks like a bubbly receptionist - or a beautician who knows her hair products!! :D

Thanks guys, AHhaha yeah I kinda had sexy secretary in mind at first for the concept but not the right costume.

Poser, I would say your job doesn't preclude you from being a sweet and genuine person. Those are the primary characteristics of her personality. As for bold and daring, she isn't really either. She is strong and stands by her beliefs. Being a model is just being a model. It's not like she's engaging in dangerous activities. She just happens to be good at what she does.

Not that I'm complaining (as it's appropriate for the context), but I heard that nude and near-nude models tended to be exhibitionistic, hence "bold & daring," which, of course, is not mutually exclusive to "sweet & genuine." It is the opposite of "bashful & reserved," though. As an aside, all of my guys & gals work nude (when they're working), as my primary reason for getting them is to be more detailed artist's mannequins. Just sayin'...

Actually, my piece, The Trumpeter,

was modeled by Katy (Millenium sculpt) nude.
