The Mary Celeste was the name of a ship found floating empty, all crew and passengers missing and never recovered and there was never any explanation. She's sometimes called the Marie Celeste, so it's close enough. So not quite a ghost ship but there was definitely vanishing involved!

I think it's a lovely name for her, and I agree with Greyhaunt, it's very fitting with how delicate and ghostly she looks! Especially against the white couch and backdrop, it looks like she might fade away at any moment. Such a pretty girl.

Thank you so much everyone.
I think I'll keep her name. I like it, and she is pretty ethereal. All my plans for her are for white or mainly white things, so it's appropriate.
I read about the Mary Celeste. How very strange. So many mysteries in this world.

sigh....I'm a gatherer of bizarre information which includes ghost ships LOL. My mistake on thinking it was Marie and not Mary, but it was still rather close :) I don't think it's an unlucky name - perhaps she will become the luck of it!

But it was "Marie" in the Arthur Conan Doyle story based on the Mary Celeste, so you were right. I think "Marie" is prettier.
I'm glad you don't think it's unlucky. I hope not. I think it suits her.

Thanks, Anthrogirl.
I just did her blushing over today. I wanted it to be a little pinker.
I'm glad you like her.
We're going shopping tomorrow after work for some new dress fabric.

Thank you, Mary Kathryn.
I really am. She stands on my bedside table so she's the first thing I see in the morning and the last at night.

She's so beautiful and ethereal! I love her Fortuny style dress too. She's a lucky doll :)
