It appears that somebody was a world traveller! Or... somebody longed to travel the world and lived out the fantasy through dolls.
The little "Frito Bandito" figure is funny with his painted mustache! I like the fisherman holding the net. And... a "real" Haitian voodoo doll! Uh oh... this could mean trouble!
