S Hook Question

Postby mica » Mon Nov 26, 2012 3:39 pm

Can you just bend closed a stretched out S hook in a dolls wrist?
My Domuyo has a tiny " Lanyard" hook in one wrist
and a S hook in the other.
The reason I am asking is the S hook one doesn't swivel because it gets pulled into the wrist ball joint.
I think this is because it is not a "tight" S"
thus making it too "long".
can I stick a chopstick in there and use a pair of needle nosed pliers ?
( the lanyard hook shaped one is open too )

Probablay depends on the S hook, but you could just make a new one out of a paperclip :)

I wish I could understand why that hand wont move -
I can't get the hand part away from the joint ball, the hook is stuck in there.
Looks like I will fiddle with both- the lanyard clip one is floppy
and the S hook one is frozen.
Thanks, if fiddling doesn;t work then I will look into heavy duty paperclip

WOOT! I did it - and I was right - because both of the clips were stretched and too long, his hands weren't moving right.
Just needed some tweeking.
Thanks Grey, all I needed was a little nudge to 'just do it' :D

The metal loop inside his hands is SO tiny no wonder someone had trouble tightening anything in there

Everybody has their own preferences with regards to motion and posing so you never can tell :)

And if you ever do use the paperclip S-hook method, you dont' need heavy duty ones - the thin small ones work just as well :) Plus they are easier to cut.
