50cm parts and a 60cm Obitsu - it works!!

Postby zirconmermaid » Mon May 23, 2011 6:37 pm

OK, Kiki-chan78 and I were wondering if the 50cm Obitsu interior waist section (3 pieces) would fit into the 60cm Obitsu.
IT DOES!!
The length is similar. Niko provided the test pieces, and Hazel got to use them. WOW!! Contortionist Hazel with no breakage!! (Oh, and since Hazel broke her elbow, she had to borrow an arm from one of the other 60's in the house to show off.) Kiki took even more pictures, and a video is coming! No more dreaded waist snap! And increased mobility! Obitsu lovers rejoice!!

So, unlike the statement at parabox that it's not interchangeable, it in fact *is* interchangeable? Nice. I foresee some upgrades in my ladies future.

I wonder whether the 50cm chest/shoulder skeletal piece would work? I know it's not as wide as the 60cm original, but it's not too far off and might still work. It's certainly got more flexibility than the 60cm original has.

This spinal part swap is really the only thing that is interchangeable between the 50cm and the 60cm.
The pegs at the ends of the 50cm spinal piece are the same diameter as those of their counter parts on the 60cm and the two assemblies are about the same length.

The "bones" connecting the joint parts in the arms and legs as well as the shoulder pegs ARE NOT the same diameters and can not be swapped without modification. This includes the arm to torso connection. Damage will ensue. Dolliehs will be unhappieh. Parts will have to be ordered. Harsh words will be uttered.

Darn!

::sounds of gnashing teeth::

I guess I will add that to the wish list of things that Obitsu could do to improve the 60cm line...
