The Director

"Let the meeting commence," Ivan declared. "I've waited long enough. If there shall be no stories, we must make our own."
"I shall direct, of course, for I am king."
"We should make a drama, but I will direct, of course, for I have been a prince within recent memory."
"I want to make a romance!" Ina's cheeks blushed.
"I'll second the lady's wishes," Micah said.
"You tread dangerous ground, fairy. I am clearly the best choice."
"Everyone knows I've seen more reruns of Glee than you, so I'm better qualified. Besides, if Ina wants a romance, we'll have it. We shall create a romantic drama."
"I demand an epic saga!" Ivan huffed.
"Oracle save us, we're not making of your boring old sagas," Foster moaned. "If I have to hear your Song of Hegelmar one more time I'll turn you into a newt. And won't get better."
"The power will be mine!"
"You two... seriously," Micah said. "Ivan, you direct. Here's the camera."
"Aha! I win! But why would I want the camera? I'm the star. I shall direct a tale of my rise to power, my epic battles, my conquest and glory!"
Micah smiled a sneaky, knowing smile. "Well, as you know, the director takes the pictures. You can't be in them, too."
"So close... "
"Let the fairy direct, then. And if there must be romance..."
"You must play the part of my queen."
"I'm not sure acting is my strong suit, Frosty. I think I'll just watch from the couch."
"You break my heart."
"We shall begin the tale after the valiant king has defeated yet another--"
"Cut! Cut!" I'm the director. Get out of the shots, you wretched undead!" Ivan didn't move. "And stop preening, you're worse than a peacock!"
Foster said, "Out of my shots! I wouldn't even cast you to be a court jester."
"Hey, I've got the perfect court jester right here!" Micah said.
"One of these days, pipsqueak. One of these days." Jim sighed.
Why do I hang out with these people? They're all lunatics.
Hmm.... I could always Compel them all to tell the story properly...
