Sweet! I was gonna try to paint new details on their faces this weekend. I did pop Mr. Desert Camo's head off this morning by accident, but it went back on no problem, so I didn't break anything.

Good sculpts with so-so paint jobs is part of the 1/6 figure hobby. This day and age you can get just about any 3D printed head you want, just make sure it's the right kind of neck joint or you have an adapter, but that's a whole other rabbit hole. You might want to add toothpicks to your paint kit if you haven't already.

I look forward to seeing the results.

Might’ve spent waaay too much money on the newest SmartDoll boy that dropped recently. I hated posting thst much, but a male vinyl was one of the main reasons I even started collecting SmartDolls. :P

Received a particular sewing pattern earlier today: McCall's Pikachu backpack/plush/hat (P462) from 1999. I only learned of its existence three days ago and jumped on the first eBay listing I could find (seller and I are in the same county, turns out); it's the exact style of Pikachu I wanted to make but didn't have the patience to wrestle with Plushify for.

The plush comes in 7" and 12"; I'm planning on making two 12" Pikachu (one male in normal colours, one female in an alternate Shiny palette) after Dad and I return from our upcoming trip to Philadelphia.

I forgot that Pokemon was once so big that companies licenced the rights to make official patterns.

I mean, Pokemon is still pretty big. XD We just get official amigurumi books/kits, instead. (Maybe because crochet has a lower barrier of entry?)

Yeah, but we got a ridiculous amount of random merch back in the late 90s. Now it's mostly toys/plushes, clothes, and bags. The 90s had Pokemon EVERYTHING.

Little craft kits are a good entry point to see if you like it because if you don't then you aren't out much money. I finally got the hang of basic knitting by making cat toys.

Just found out that Michaels bought up Joann's in house brands like Big Twist yarn, important because Big Twist plush/velvet in Baby Bear is the color to make emotional support nuggets out of.

On the doll side of life Below Five might still have folding chair cell phone holders that are perfectly 1/6 size. With school supplies coming back look for doll sized plastic garbage can/wheelie bins being sold as pencil holders.
