Someone modded their dolls with servos and now they dance. Pretty neat, huh?

Cool. :)

I can see where there are some uncanny valley complaints, but oddly enough they don't trigger that reaction in me. (The edges to that particular valley seem to vary for each person.)

Shame I doubt something like this would work in my preferred scale of 1/6... but maybe someday I'll save up and get a big doll specifically to do something like this.
Playscale-Obsessed Mad Scientist with more cheap vinyl dolls than I'm willing to count.

You can go that small, you just might have to mill your own parts. Some motorized building sets could have small enough parts. Many stop motion critters are on the smaller side.

Why is it that people find robotic dogs and raptors cute, but dolls are "creepy"........ I think it's fantastic!

That's cool!

The only bit I found remotely creepy was when Miku was walking in the last video. But that's to do with the walk, and not the fact it was a doll - I'd've found a human walking like that a bit creepy, too

They're awesome! :D I'm actually super impressed by the violin one-that they aren't just arbitrarily moving their bow arms but are, sort of, moving on the string as they would if they were actually playing.
