Obitsu 30cm Male Body

Postby Kattriella » Sat Jun 01, 2024 5:57 pm

So apparently this just completely flew under my radar.

Obitsu finally released a new male body to compliment their (not so new anymore) female bodies! Which is good, because when I found out the old male body was discontinued, I got worried. I have WAY too many future projects planned that require an articulated male body. I can't wait to get my hands on one to compare it to the old body style. Anybody happen to have gotten hold of one yet?

It flew under my radar, as well, and I follow them on FB..... nice body for that size, too!

I only found it because I was looking on Hobby Link Japan to check prices for Obitsu bodies, and then it popped up. I had to Google it to figure out if it was real or a misprint by the website, only to find out they were showing off the prototypes all the way back in 2021. What? It looks like the articulation is a major step up from the original, based on the photos.

I like him, I'll have to look around for one. My biggest thing might be finding a head as most of my guys aren't made for that kind of neck.

It looks like it comes with a couple of adapters for the neck, and considering that Obitsus are known to be "take apart and put back together" dolls, ot might be possible to swap the neck itself.

I saw this new body online as well but l don't know if paying 60.00 for a body is worth it for a 1/6. I do like it.

I have some 1:6 dolls I've paid over $200 for, so what I consider an acceptable price might be a little skewed. ^u^; I like me some Integrity Toys dolliehs.

It's 2024, $60 is reasonable for the amount of articulation and hopefully quality you'll get out of an Obitsu. Comparing it to what the older base models were it's about right.

Even without the neck choice I'd probably buy as soon as I found one. That is a nice looking feller with a different than the run of the mill body. I'm curious how tall he is compared to some of the other guys too.

The pictures I've seen show he's definitely taller than the older slim male body, of that helps.
